My Rooftop Studio

One of the things that really attracted me to my studio is the space on the roof. It's easy to get to, stairs lead straight up, and you have access to the rooftops on three buildings. There are all kinds of surfaces and backgrounds and the skyline view of Chicago is amazing. On Memorial Day Courtney, Darren, Lindsey and Damien came over and we hung out on the roof watching the sunset and goofing off.

Jay's BBQ & Wacking Party

We left Courtney's BBQ to bring our Spongebob pinata to Jay & Jenny's for some serious wacking. Someone had given them a pinata for their wedding and it was time to get some candy. Their pinata had pictures of them on either side and Jay had a rigging system that he could control to mess with the wackers. Before they got their shot Jay's sister would spin them around a few times so they wouldn't know where they are. Craig had a great time hitting Spongebob square in the pants.

Courney's BBQ

On a lovely memorial day weekend Craig and I had a day of BBQs planned for Sunday and were just preparing for a fun afternoon when I got a surprise phone call. It was one of my old college roommates, Lindsey. I hadn't seen her in years until this past October and we had an awesome time. She wanted to know if we were coming to Courtney's later and we told her that it was first on our list. When we were arrived we were giggling sorority sisters with Courtney, also in our pledge class. Yup, that's right, I was a sorority girl and I met amazing women who continue to amaze me. Courtney's parents were there enjoying themselves with the rest of us. It was great and we hated to leave but we had another BBQ to go so we decided to make plans to hang out the following evening.

Hanging with Art

We have a neighbor who lives downstairs from us who is the elder stateman of our building. He served in the Air Force when he was young and used to work at a graphics, printing and photography studio in the city up until about a year ago. Now he's retired and holds court on his deck, talking with all of us in the building about all kinds of things. The men in the building, especially, are drawn to his energy and sense of humor like bees to honey. I have to regularly remind Craig that we are late for an engagement or having people over while he shmoozes with this condo president. I decided to turn the camera on my fellow photographer on lazy afternoon.
