Atelsons At Home

I sent out a flyer annoucing myself as a family photographer either on site or in my studio. Asking all my friends to pass this out to people they new I got my first bite. Of course my hopes weren't too high when the mom looked at me and said, "She's cranky". Oh well, you've got to make the best of it. She definitely kept me on my toes and I was exhausted aferwards. Here are Jason, Jeri and Bailey.

Enjoy!

Sailing! Sort of..

A group of us decided to rent a boat and go sailing to watch the sun go down on another weekend. It was a hot one and we were really excited to go sailing except for Craig since he had just broken his hand and was wearing a cast. When we arrived at the dock we were sadly told that we would not be sailing today due to the strong currents. No matter, we revved up the engine and teetered all around watching the "Lake Jet Set" party . Girls were running around milking drinks from surrounding boats. Us girls decided to take a dip but not without our lifejackets! It was really strong and there were still a lot of boats zooming around. After the sail we went for pizza!

Aria's Baptism

Christina's family likes to joke that Craig and Lynn never miss a good Catholic ceremony, we're there for Christmas, Easter, why not the Baptism of my good friend's daughter? Despite the fact that the parents(Damien & Christina) were the ones dragged to the church kicking and screaming it was a lovely ceremony where Aria entertained us all with her constant chatter and seeming awareness to what was going on. She even renounced Satan shaking her head, no Satan. The excitement of the Baptism was followed by an after party at Uncle Joey's where Uncle Frankie shared his excitment and stories. Even the neighbors down the block love Uncle Frankie's stories, "Is that Frankie b/c I can hear him across the street?" And our favorite quote of the day, "And to think, I had that gun all those years and I've never shot anybody!" Joey's garage/hideout was one of my favorite parts, his collections of antiques and signs clearly mark his den.

Puerto Rican Festival

Every year a huge Puerto Rican Festival is held in a beautiful park not far from where we live. If you've heard anything about the reputations of these festivals their not great. Women have been attacked, people get shot, it's got a pretty bad rap. I decided that this year I wanted to see what all the fuss was about after all, we were getting stuck in all the traffic that has to do with it. After recruiting my husband and a buddy, thanks D, we hit it in style and a little early. Turns out we were blown away. There were super fun and naseau inducing rides, tons of amazing food, and all kinds of booths where you could buy things. The point of the festival seemed to be to wear as many things with the Puerto Rican flag on them as possible. That person deserves a prize. Enjoy the characters we met, the brothers with the really long hair, the Big Papa and of course, Te Te.
